The Snowboard Big Air World Cup is heading to London for the first time this November, offering a fantastic display for winter sports fanatics to enjoy.

If you’ve already booked your ski breaks in Meribel or other European hotspots this winter, it could be the perfect event to get you in the mood.

A real coup for the UK, Freeze Big Air 2015 marks the first time such an event has been held in the country and it will bring together 60 of the best snowsports athletes in the world to show off their skills at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. Organised by the International Ski Federation, the event will also involve an international ski invitation where 12 of the best freestyle skiers will battle it out on huge kickers.

Among the British hopefuls ticket holders are likely to see are Jenny Jones, Billy Morgan and Katie Ormerod.

Riders keen to show off their talents

After it was announced that snowboard big air would be making its debut at the Pyeongchang Olympic Games in 2018, it’s likely to provide a true spectacle as the professionals will be keen to showcase their ability. All the action will be taking place on a giant jump that will be constructed from 360 tonnes of snow; from start to finish it will be longer than Wembley Stadium.

Freeze Big Air 2015 will be taking place at Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on November 14, with tickets starting at just £37.50. As it’s likely to prove very popular, we recommend that people purchase their passes as soon as they can to avoid disappointment – visit the official website here.

If you’re looking forward to ripping up the snow park on your family ski holidays in France this winter, the event could provide the perfect inspiration you need. And so could the video below!
