Eurostar adds two links on Ski Train service
Eurostar have released tickets for the 2015/16 ski season, with the famous rail provider expanding its offering by two brand new routes.
While the service is also known as a simple and direct method to destination for those travelling on their skiing holidays in Meribel and other resorts across the Alps, it’s been announced that this season the train will – for the first time – be travelling between London and Lyon. A journey which will take just over four and a half hours, it offers a fantastic alternative for those who would rather not head to the airport.
Eurostar to travel to Geneva for the first time this season
Further to this, Eurostar has also announced that it is to introduce a connecting service to Geneva from the French city of Lille. Known as a great transport link for a host of skiing resorts in the Alps, it’s a great way to reach the mountain on your family ski trips to Val d’Isere this winter. The new route to Geneva from London will take slightly longer than six hours, and seats are available from as little as £127 for a return.
Travelling from St Pancras direct to Moûtiers, Bourg Saint Maurice and Geneva, the Eurostar is the simplest method of reaching the Alps and all you really have to worry about is making sure you get on the train. Another reason why rail travel has proved so popular is because there are no weight restrictions, meaning you won’t be forced to leave any of your gear behind due to the worry about a fine.
The service starts from 19 December and can be booked directly from the Eurostar website. If you are looking to book your family skiing getaways in France and would rather steer clear of the airport departure lounge, be sure to get your seats as soon as possible.
